Hermanus Property

Hermanus property is a hot thing I tell you. The 120km and 90 minute drive from Cape Town make it an appealing option for those city dwellers. Far enough to escape, close enough to do it easily. Along with reasonable weather year-round, whales for 4-5 months, and a mountain range hugging the coastline to prevent urban sprawl – these factors all contribute to make it a perfect weekend spot for a break.

There are of course many other factors, like the beaches, restaurants, nice shops, mountain bike routes et al but the first list is surely primary. Luckily for me I get to come here often to take snaps of homes and such for casual Airbnb’ers. Quite incredibly I think this town may have year round patronage; while most towns will have a low season, Hermanus probably picks up in whale season (which is also mid-winter). Add to that the spring flowers bloom for the whales, and the fact that summer is actually a little hot and windy here, means that, depending who you are, you’ll probably always find something you like out here, no matter when you visit.

For me, this view is the best thing about it. A still evening in March or April, flat seas, warm tones on the mountain’s side, and a cliff path on which to walk on in these golden hours. This lucky home now has great photos to help it rent out n Airbnb; I wonder who will be next to ask for world-class photos of their Hermanus property
